Sorry Boris, you can't come with us.
Today we headed out on our trip. First stop, Vegas. As ususal, we only have a rough idea of where we will be heading... we'll figure it out as we go.
I decided to take the old Acura instead of Annie's Honda, and loaded the 'good' tools just in case. I had to break the tools out earlier than expected when the alternator broke in the middle of the desert. Luckily, we were able to make it to Barstow and find a replacement. After a few hours, we were on the road again and Annie was finished with another book.Usually, it takes us a few days into our vacation to slow down and relax. This little delay got us into the 'vacation mode' early. Whatever happens, we'll just take it in stride!
First stop, 'The D'Amico's'. Mike is by best friend from college. It was great to see the gang... and we got to see their new (and very cute) granddaugher Mikaila.
My sister Kaffers just so happened to be barrel racing her horses this evening, so we headed out to the arena to watch. She even let me warm up one of her horses and walk out a few of the others. Annie and Mike's daughter Jenny watched from the stands. I even got to see Bubs and Greg!
Since Annie spent most of last night stamping cards for the upcoming convention in Salt Lake City, she decided to go to sleep. I headed to the local western dance club to meet Mike's daugher Michelle. Dancing here reminded me of all the fun I had staying with the D'Amico's while I was working in Las Vegas.
